4 Fall Hairstyles to do with a Curling Wand and Accessories

by Rachel September 16, 2016

Hey there, everyone! My name is Rachel and I’m a fashion/lifestyle blogger over at my website, Rachel Lynn.  I’m back to bring you more fun hairstyles perfect for the crisp Fall weather that is quickly approaching. I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been so excited for Fall! Apple cider, Halloween, changing leaves and pumpkin everything has got me ready to say goodbye to summer and hello to Fall. So today I’m bringing you 4 of my favorite Fall Hairstyles to do with a curling wand. For these tutorials I’ll be using my Remington T|Studio Thermaluxe Curling Wand. I love how fast this wand heats up and how quickly it actually curls my hair! For a girl on the go, this wand is a must.

Curls & Volume

Everywhere I look lately, people are all about voluptuous hair. Not that people haven’t been dying for volume since the beginning of time, but lately I’ve been seeing volume on top of volume—especially on the runway! This hairstyle is super easy to create. Start with your basic curl using your Thermaluxe curling wand. Wrap your hair around the wand, leaving as much space in between each strand on the barrel as possible. When there’s more space on the barrel, your  curls will turn out looser and fuller!

After that, I take my hands, hold small sections of my hair and push up on the rest of it. This isn't quite like teasing hair - although if you want even more volume that will definitely work - but it will still get the job done!

Greek-Inspired Twist

This style is even easier than the last! I like to start with a curled base, because the curls give my hair more volume. Who doesn't want more volume in their hair?! After the curl, place the hair band on top of your hair - not underneath it. Then, simply take sections of your hair and curl them up, over and then underneath of the hair band. This gives the circular twist look.

I always mess around with mine a bit, pulling some strands looser here and others tighter in order to give the desired effect.

Pony Tail Twist

This look is very similar to the Greek-inspired twist, but with a ponytail. I start by sectioning off section of hair towards the front of my head and twisting it back towards the base of my head. You can make this twist as tight or loose as you want. I usually add in hair as I get closer to the base of my head.

Once you do this to both sides secure tightly with a hair tie. Low ponytails are HUGE this fall. I've seen them all over the runway, and this look would be perfect with a sweater and a scarf. I always like to take a piece of hair and wrap it around the hair tie. I feel like this gives the look a cleaner effect - much more chic!

Knots, Knots and More Knots!

If there's one thing that the runway is crazy about - besides vintage accents and 80's inspired hair - it's knots! Any and every type of knot! Some of them look super crazy and messy and other a very prim and proper. I'm the personality that loves a little craziness. Maybe that's because I'm always in a rush when I'm doing my hair, but if I can pull off the 'chic mess' then it's a good day! Again, I curled my hair before hand to give my knot more volume. For this style, I simply took my hair and twisted it into a ballerina-esque bun on the lower part of my head.

I secured it with my Remington Large Sweep and Style Barrette and was good to go!

I love having my hair curled with this style, because then I can pull out a few strands of curled hair and give off that 'messy' vibe.

I hope these fall-inspired hairstyles bring you as much joy as any pumpkin spice latte could give you! Happy Fall!

xoxo,

Rachel Lynn

Fringe For The Fall

by Erica Zar August 11, 2014

Hello! I’m Erica Zar, the blogger behind Casually Styled, a personal style blog. I am so honored to be a guest blogger today for Remington Ready!

Today I want to share one of the top trends for fall 2014, which actually is a continuation from what we saw this past spring.  Yes, I’m talking about fringe! Fringe has made its way back into fashion in a big and exciting way. We have seen fringe over the years make its mark on western wear and casual wear, everything from boots, jackets and purses, but now it is taking on a new life of its own with pieces that truly make it a fashion statement.

There are so many ways to add fringe to your style without overstating it.  The trick to fringing is to focus on one piece to keep it simple and classy, and treating it as an accessory to what you are wearing.

Here are some great examples to incorporate fringe for that effortless and chic statement:

1.  Fringe Boots – a great way to add an extra splash of pizzazz to a pair of skinny jeans or even a dress! (Boots seen here, currently available by DV by Dolce Vita at Nordstrom)

2. Fringe Purses – let your purse do the talking as the statement piece to compliment your outfit. (Purse seen here, currently available at Target online and in stores).

3. Fringe Necklaces – a hot trend this fall, add a fringe necklace to a plain tank or tee for a subtle but bold statement!  (Necklace seen here, currently available at Forever21 online or in stores).

4. Fringe Jackets – another huge comeback, not just for the Wild West anymore! A great fall piece to add to your week-end wardrobe!

5. Kimono – a personal favorite of mine, the kimono has become a popular cover-up over the past few months – choose one with fringed sleeves and you’ll be ahead of the fashion curve! (Kimono seen here, currently available at Forever21)

6. Formal Wear – Make an entrance with an eye-catching fringe cocktail dress or evening gown that will make you feel sexy and glam!

7. Bathing Suits – Planning a Caribbean vacation or cruise? Swimwear is taking the plunge with fringe this season as well!

8. Vintage Fringe – A trip to your favorite vintage store or maybe mom’s closet will score you a classic fringe piece that will definitely make a statement!
Let’s face it, almost every one of us has owned a fringed piece at one point in our lives and it was always fun to wear!  Bring back some of that fun with this season’s fringe trend!

Feel Good for Fall

by Alexandra Machover November 5, 2012

Getting out of bed in the morning can be a much more challenging task as the seasons change during this time of year.  In order to avoid dreading the day, I’ve made it my goal to figure out how to look and feel as warm as possible even as the weather gets cold.  So without further ado, let me show you how to keep your mind, body, and soul fabulous all year round:

1. Keep your summer glow in the healthiest way possible

The first thing that always reminds me summer has come to an end is when I see the glorious tan, which I worked so hard to achieve, fade right before my eyes. If you’re like me and prefer to maintain some sort of color (sans tanning bed), then you’d probably appreciate this first tip.  Here are some of the products I have found mimic tans most successfully.

LORAC’s TANtalizer is the perfect product for those of you who realize you’re looking particularly translucent right before going out.  This make up instantly bronzes with tanner for those skin tones that tend to become orange with a more long-lasting product.  Since this is a makeup, it washes right off at the end of the night and won’t leave you with any unexpected bronzing malfunctions a lightweight formula that doesn’t streak and looks completely natural.  It is the ideal self-tanner.

For those of you who think ahead of time, ST. TROPEZ’s Everyday Gradual Tan is the product for you.  You can slowly build your tan over time, without worrying about becoming orange.  This advanced formula creates the most natural tan I’ve witnessed.  Not only does it nourish your skin with aloe vera, but also it has barely any self-tan odor, which is always a plus in my book.

This next product is on the top of my “cannot live without” list.  I posted Benefit’s Moon Beam on my own blog to publically exclaim its excellence, and felt the need to endorse it one more time.  This iridescent highlighter instantly enhances your complexion in the most glorious way possible.  Use it with or without powder to add the perfect amount of sheen to any skin tone.

2.  Energize your wardrobe

Recycle your summer neons for fall to keep a fresh, fun wardrobe.  Pair a chiffon neon shirt (like this one from nastygal.com) with your favorite cargo pants for a vibrant take on a fall classic.  A bright pink clutch adds a summer flare to any outfit.  Wear it with skinny jeans and a leather jacket to remind yourself that just because the summer is over, doesn’t mean you’re limited to wearing shades of brown.   A more subtle pop of color can be achieved with a neon belt.  Wear it with trousers and a silk blouse to amp up your work attire and shine some light into your office.

Another summer trend that won’t be fading too quickly is bold floral patterns. Wear these from your head to your toe, add some leather accents, and voilà, you have the perfect juxtaposition of two seasons.

3. Accessorize with statement necklaces

Go big or go home with your accessories.  Take risks with what you choose to embellish your outfit with.  Statement necklaces are one accessory that can add visual interest instantly.  They are arguably the easiest solution to turning an “okay” outfit into something extraordinary.  Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean your outfits need to be drab and dull!

Must Have Fall Accessories

by Remington Ready September 3, 2012

While we hate to admit that summer is quickly coming to a close we can’t help but get (excessively) excited about slipping back into a cozy fall wardrobe.  While fall fashion can pretty much be summed up in “layers” here are our favorite accessories that make a fall look fabulous.

Cozy Scarf: Having a great scarf (or many) this season is the biggest must-have of them all! They’re great to accent an outfit or just to keep you warm. You can go with a standard thin scarf or a thicker infinity scarf for those cooler days. If you have a neutral colored coat, try out a cool pattern or floral scarf to make your outfit more fun!

Splurge: Fritillary Ruffle Loop, Anthropology  $38

Steal: Textured Knit Snood, Asos.com  $20.44

Vintage Jewelry: Start off your fall with some new jewelry that will make your outfit pop! Think big pieces and warm colors. If you look hard enough you will be able to find some great things that will transform a boring outfit into something fantastic. Try looking at your local farmer’s market or thrift store! Finding these pieces here will truly make them one of a kind!

Splurge: Gold Natural Gemstone Necklace, Rubylane.com  $325
Steal: Layered Stone Necklace, Banana Republic   $39.50

Leather Bag: Try getting a nice warm brown leather bag for this upcoming fall! The leather is a great material to get you through this cold season and is resistant to wear and tear. Take one of your mom’s old neck ties and secure it to the bag strap for a cute personal touch!

Splurge: New Leather City Willis, Coach $298
Steal: Meadow Top Handle Flap Crossbody, Nicole Miller $35

Boots: You can’t start fall without a great pair of boots (I supposed can, but it isn’t nearly as fun).  Boots are a staple. Dress them up for work or dress them down for a casual weekend! We suggest looking for something versatile and leather to get you through those slushy days as fall turns to winter. Make sure you use leather or suede spray before you wear them to ensure the boots stay looking great throughout the seasons!

Splurge: Paige Tall Riding, The Fry Company  $358

Steal: Ciao Bella Tabby Wide Calf Riding Boot, DSW.com  $99.95
