Fall Hair and Makeup Tutorial

by Becca Leah November 23, 2015

Hi everyone!

I'm Becca and I'm a guest blogger here on the Remington Channel. I create beauty and fashion videos over on my Youtube channel (Becca Leah). In this video I show you how I get ready for a Fall day by using my 2-in-1 Curling Iron by Remington. For this look, I created a smoky eye with a bold dark purple lip to add some fall colors into my normal makeup routine. This 2-in-1 Curling Iron is so easy to use and it leaves my hair looking voluminous. The curls last all day!

Braided Fall Waves

by Diana November 9, 2015

Hey everyone! My name is Diana and I'm a Canadian blogger over at 204 Park from Edmonton, Alberta. I'm SO excited to be guest blogging for Remington because today, I'll be sharing a fun braided look with one of my favorite hair tools!

Summer may long be over but that doesn't mean you need to give up your beach-y waves. Today I've got a simple braided hairstyle that's perfect for fall! All you need is your Remington 2 in 1 curling iron a few bobby pins, a hair clip, elastics and some hairspray.

Step 1: Start with your straight or natural hair and section away to begin curling. I like to clip the top half of my hair up to start at the bottom and work my way up in sections.

Step 2: Curl your hair into loose waves. For a more natural wave, swap the direction of your curl as you move along to each section. For example, if you start your first curl with an "over curl" (wrapping your hair over the curling iron), curl your next piece with an "under curl" by starting to wrap your hair under the curling iron.

Step 3: Once your hair is nicely curled use a quick shot of hairspray and run your fingers lightly through the curls so they look loose and natural. Then section the top 1/3 of your hair into two smaller sections along your part and start a simple braid in each section. Secure with an elastic.

Step 4: Pull the two braids towards one another and then, loosening a section in one of the braids, pull the other braid through so the two intertwine.

Step 5: Secure with bobby pins and hairspray then remove the elastics at the end of the braids for a natural look

With that you've created a simple fall braid that is perfect for fall.

Happy hairstyling babes!

Hair Accessories for Fall Styles

by Busola November 5, 2015

Hello everyone! My name is Busola Coutss and I am a guest blogger today on Remington. I will be showing you how to upgrade and spice up your fall outfits using Remington hair accessories.

Hair accessories will always be trendy no matter what the weather says. Having a good hair day doesn't always have to end there but accessorizing that pretty hair goes a long way. With these two Remington hair accessories, you can take your fall looks from just an outfit to a chic fall outfit in a second.

For this first look, I styled the Red Plaid Bow Head Wrap with my sweater and printed midi skirt. Plaid is such a huge trend this fall season and with a lovely color like red, you simply can't go wrong. The head wrap adds a fun and feminine touch to the slightly edgy look. This is a great look for fashion week and events. It takes you straight from the office to any event and more.

For this next look, I wanted to show that a casual look doesn't have to be so laid back and so casual. To spice up the look, I styled it with the Blue Gem Head Band, it gives the outfit an all-round sweet and chic look.

Hair accessories always add a golden touch and make a big difference in a look. Have fun! For more styling tips and inspiration, visit me at my blog The Fashion Stir Fry

The Shower Conditioning Brush Review

by Missy Chrissy October 13, 2015

Hi Everyone! My name is Chrissy and I'm a Canadian Youtube personality/stylist from Vancouver, BC. I have a love for all things beauty - especially beauty on a budget. I strive to find my subscribers the best beauty tips, hair ideas and styling choices to help you save money and look your absolute best.

I've been using Remington products my whole life - and I was so excited when Remington contacted me to try out the new Shower Conditioning Brush. As a platinum blonde, with all the bleach and toner im putting on my hair every 6-8 weeks - I really needed a miracle. Even though I use one of the best argon oil conditioners on the market, my ends are constantly dry and breaking off. I love having long hair, so cutting it all off isn't really an option for me and with the amount of breakage I had - it was taking forever to grow out. The first time I used this brush, I noticed an immediate difference in the texture of my hair. It felt hydrated, soft and smooth. I didn't have to brush through my towel dried hair either - which was when the most  breakage was happening.  After a week of using the conditioning brush, my hair finally had the shine, silkiness and volume that I had been searching for. Not only did this brush restore my damaged hair, it provided me with a super amazing scalp massage each time I used it. Scalp massages stimulate hair growth, which just keeps adding to this list of amazing benefits to this brush.

I hope you love this brush as much as I do. I'm going to keep using this as part of my shower routine. Remington, you certainly saved my hair!

My Hair Care Routine

by Becca Leah October 5, 2015

Hi guys! My name is Becca and I’m a guest blogger on the Remington channel! I create beauty and fashion videos over on my channel (Becca Leah). In this video I talk about my hair care routine and the steps I take to keep my hair healthy. I start off by using shampoo and conditioner. With my conditioner, I use the Remington conditioning brush to brush the conditioner through my hair. It distributes the conditioner evenly throughout my hair and doesn’t leave any clumps. After I use the brush, it leaves my hair feeling soft and easy to style. After styling, I use hairspray to keep my curls in tact throughout the day. Lastly, in between washes I apply dry shampoo of a powder solution to my roots and that gets rid of all of the bad oils in my hair and makes it look and feel fresh and ready to go.

Thanks for watching my Hair Care Routine! Here are the products that I mentioned:

The Science of Conditioning

by Remington Ready September 24, 2015

Hair goes through a lot. Washing, brushing, drying, curling, straightening—all these things and more can leave hair dry and brittle.

That’s why you use conditioner. It brings hair back to its natural beauty with a full and healthy look. (It smells pretty nice, too.)

It’s usually easy to see the benefits of using conditioner, but do you know what’s really going on when you work it through your hair? Let’s take a look at the science behind hair conditioner and see how to get the most out of using it.

Here’s a simple explanation about the structure of your hair: Each hair is made up of tiny cuticles. Under a microscope, these cuticles look like overlapping flakes spiraling along the hair from root to tip. Of course, the hair we see on our heads is not actually alive, so these cuticles don’t receive nutrients from the body. That means they can easily become frayed and weakened from heat and styling.

That’s where conditioner comes in handy. Conditioners contain a variety of ingredients that are supposed to smooth out hair and give it that healthy look.

Examples of these substances are: surfactants, oils, humectants, silicones, and proteins.

Different conditioners contain varying amounts of these, but they’re all intended to smooth out cuticles and seal hair to prevent it from future styling damage.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that conditioner needs to be applied completely to all hair strands for it to be effective. That can be hard to do sometimes, especially if you have long, thick hair. But there are ways to make it easier.

The Remington Conditioning Brush is designed to maximize conditioner distribution. It dispenses conditioner as you work the detangling silicon bristles through your hair, leaving nourishment along the entire hair strand.

The brush is proven to be four times more effective than manual application, and it works with any conditioner for all hair types. Make the Remington Conditioning Brush part of your beauty routine and see what science can do for your hair.

The Perfect Day-to-Night Bun

by Labelle Mel September 17, 2015

Hello everyone! My name is Melanie and I am a lifestyle blogger over at LaBelleMel. I’m back again as Remington’s guest blogger showcasing how I would use Remington's Perfect Bun tool to style my hair from a day to night bun look. Having medium-length hair doesn't give me much length yet to turn it into a nice sleek bun and that's where the perfect bun can come in handy.

I was given this hair tool a few weeks back and for roughly $5, it's an inexpensive tool to take with you changing your hairstyle from day to night so easily and effortlessly. For my day bun, I wanted a side fishtail braid to pull back into a low bun.

1. First, separate a side of your hair and clip away, then pull the rest of your hair into a low ponytail.

2. Pull your ponytail into the perfect bun tool, then pull your tail back with the tool and roll the tool forward towards the base of your ponytail.

3. Bend the tool around the base of your ponytail and spread out your hair around the tool to cover it. Pin any hair out of place down.

4. Next, French braid your hair into a fishtail braid or regular French braid will work too and fasten the end.

5. Flatten the braid by pulling carefully at the loops until you have a fuller braid look.

6. Pin the braid around the bun and any loose hair down. Voila, done!

Then for your night look, unravel the braid and pull all your hair into a high top bun. I love a good sleek high bun with simple accessories to create an elegant look for your fun night in the city. Just something about the whole top bun shouts glam to me.

1. Pull all your hair into a high bun.

2. Take the tool over your ponytail and flatten the tool straight.

3. Pull your hair straight up and tight to be sure all hair stays inside the tool loop.

4. Then, roll the tool forward towards the base of your ponytail.

5. Wrap the tool around the base and spread your hair evenly around the tool to cover it.

6. Finally, pin any loose hair strands down and done!

Shower Conditioning Brush Review

by Sonja September 11, 2015

I remember back when I would comb my hair in the shower after applying conditioner in an attempt to thoroughly saturate it. But that wasn't so great for my tresses because the comb put a lot of stress on my hair and pulled some of it out with every use. But with a comfortable detangling brush like this that also dispenses my favorite conditioner, my hair-cleaning process has never been easier. My hair looks and feels better than ever! Read more below to see how this great new product can improve your daily routine.

About The Product

The Shower Conditioning Brush is a convenient way to condition your hair and detangle it at the same time. Just put your favorite conditioner into the reservoir and press the dispensing button while you work the silicon bristles effortlessly through your hair. It might look intimidating or even completely foreign to some, but if you're familiar with the Tangle Teezer, you'll definitely love this one because the silicon bristles are much softer and more spread apart, which allows you to brush your hair gently but also effectively.

How to Use

To fill the reservoir with conditioner, remove the cap by simply turning it to the right as you would open a regular bottle or dispenser. The first thing you see should be a plastic film with instructions. Don't throw it away, it's got important information for you! As stated in the instructions, remove the film first, then fill the reservoir with a conditioner of your choice, then place the plastic film on top of the conditioner and reattach the lid. Once that's done, all you have to do is push the soft grip button on the lid to dispense the conditioner through the three small ports shown above.

Thoughts

I've been using this for the past couple weeks whenever I apply conditioner and I'd say that it has certainly become a permanent addition to my hair care routine. The smooth silicon teeth of the brush make detangling super painless and easy, and since the bristles are quite far apart, there's very little fallout which minimizes the possibility of hair damage. The three ports inside the brush also help dispense the conditioner evenly and saturate all of my hair completely, which can't always be accomplished with just my fingers. In my experience, it works best to fill the brush fully with conditioner so that the product can escape the dispenser easily, and that's also why the plastic film is necessary - so that once you push the dispense button, the conditioner comes out straight through the ports evenly.

In a nutshell, I'm truly pleased with this innovative and efficient product. It's an easy and much more effective way to evenly distribute conditioner to your hair and provide maximum moisture for a healthy, radiant look. My hair feels incredibly silky and smooth every time I use this brush!

The Shower Conditioning Brush launches at Walmart and Target on September 1st for $9.99, so grab yours when you get the chance!

As always, thanks for stopping by. 'Til next time! xoxo,

Sonja Delicana
