Trend Alert! Olympic Fashion Style Guide

by Remington Ready February 24, 2014

With the Winter Olympics coming to an end, companies are teaming up with different countries to support their favorite teams. Instead of a traditional t-shirt with your team’s name on it, many brands took a sophisticated approach to outfitting the teams. Companies like Ralph Lauren, Nike, North Face, and Lacoste are just a few of the popular names that are keeping athletes and fans not only warm this Olympic season, but in style as well!

3 Ideas For Fun Holiday Party Looks

by Amelia Vignali December 9, 2013

DRESS It Up!

This outfit is perfect for all of those holiday work parties we are all worrying about finding something festive to wear to. Red is my "go to" for the holidays. Nothing makes a better statement than a classic red dress. Add a simple sweater or jacket like I did here, and you are set to party with your coworkers!

ADD a Statement Piece

When searching for an outfit for a family gathering, adding pieces on the conservative side is key. Pairing a sweater with a skirt is one thing, but adding bold accessories like a hat or tights really completes the look. You want to look put together when seeing all of those distant relatives that you haven't seen since last Christmas!

SKIP the Ugly Sweater

If you are skipping out on that ugly Christmas sweater party with your friends this year and are in need of a look to impress, you are at the right place! Partying with friends around the holidays is a perfect excuse to step out of your comfort zone and be more daring. Try coordinating patterns together that you wouldn't do normally. This fluffy vest paired with velvet embossed pants and royal blue pumps is perfect way to start the new year with your closest friends!

Star-spangled Spectacular: The Ultimate Guide to 4th of July Style

by Kelly Glenn July 1, 2012

From BBQs to pool parties, fireworks to—oh yeah, our nations independence--there is so much to celebrate this Fourth of July.

Now, just to get it out of the way—can we all agree that the 4th of July being on a Wednesday is not the most ideal situation? That, of course, doesn’t take away all the fun. Even though we have to go to work the next day, it simply means we have to have THAT MUCH more fun looking fabulous so we can tell our friends about it at work the next day.

So whether you’re spending the day grilling at the BBQ or chilling by the pool, here are some fun ways to show your American spirit and celebrate the holiday in style
(and really, lets be honest—I love summer, and I love holidays—any excuse to dress in theme and I’m already there.)

While wearing the patriotic red, white and blue isn’t completely mandatory for 4th of July celebration, I definitely believe in throwing in a few small touches of all three colors into your ensemble.. because really—what other time of the year can you wear all three colors and not look like you’re wearing a costume?

To take the guesswork out of figuring out what to wear, I’ve put together three different style options that will work depending on what your plans are for the day. As always, feel free to mix and match elements of each to find your perfect outfit.

1) BBQ Champion -This outfit perfect for a hot summer BBQ. Pair a blue check or plaid top (farfetch.com) with some (all-American) denim shorts (hm.com) for a laid back chic. Pair it with some cute red accessories like these red converse (converse.com) and red shades (alexandchloe.com) and you’re ready for that watermelon, corn on the cob and owning the three-legged race.

2) Everybody in the pool - Ah, the pool party. If there were any place I’d want to be this 4th, it would definitely be by the pool. Be pool ready with a striped bikini paired with some red denim shorts (aritzia.com) and a chic beach tote (tommy.com) and a pair of cute wedge sandals. You could also opt for a chic cover-up, and of course don’t forget the hat and sunscreen.

3) Firework Fab – Be a firework in a cute simple navy dress (forever21.com) that’s perfect for a hot summer night of fun. Pair it with some simple t-strap sandals (editnewyork.com) and this adorable navy blue wrap bracelet with gold detailing (jcrew.com). Finish of the outfit with a pop of red, like this red chain strap clutch (stylebop.com).

Benefits of Sleep

by Kelley Krueger January 9, 2012

Sleep

Ok y'all .. I've now discovered the true meaning of sleep and why we need it! Without sleep I'm pretty much useless. It makes for a better day, it makes our skin glow, it inspires us to look our best, and it's pretty much the core of everything beauty.

Being sleep deprived is a depressing look. Not cute at all. You can't hide it. Eye bags cannot be missed. But how do full time working moms do it and still look fab?! Is there a secret potion to all this? My secret...20 minute naps here and there. Sleep when baby sleeps. It really works.

I refuse to let my beauty regime go. It's not me. I love to wake up refreshed get ready and head out to my day. Being comfortable and feeling "you" makes a world of a difference. Nothing should stand in the way of that.

Though, there are many people I know who never sleep and look fab. Or is that a big fat lie?! Hmm...is staying young the only way to look fresh 24-7?! I look at Cindy Crawford and just wonder. That woman is drop dead gorgeous. Someone please tell me how super models always look perfect! To end on a good note get sleep people - that's my trick!
